Nature’s Equations

My thoughts and inspiration from the recent Blue Zone’s update. By the way, I changed the PurposeEQ base on this inspiration.

Note the new shell/fingerprint symbol.

  1. PURPOSE = Longevity

Research shows that people who know their life purpose (why they wake up in the morning) live longer, healthier lives.

Purpose is OUR REASON TO RISE.

Recent Blue Zones News

Dr. Robert Butler and his collaborators led an NIH-funded study that looked at the correlation between having a sense of purpose and longevity. His 11-year study followed healthy people between the ages of 65 and 92, and showed that those who expressed having clear goals or purpose lived longer and lived better than those who did not. This is because individuals who understand what brings them joy and happiness tend to have what we like to call the Right Outlook. They are engulfed in activities and communities that allow them to immerse themselves in a rewarding and gratifying environment.

2. Longevity = NATURAL AGING

According the latest report on the Blue Zones, the key to healthy longevity is natural aging.  Our goal is to add life to our years, not just (low quality) years to our life.

For example, people who live in Blue Zones don’t go the gym - they walk. They sit on the floor (which requires a strong core to get up and down throughout the day).

Article:

“Buettner's team identified nine healthy principles — called the Power 9 — they believe to be at the core of Blue Zone living:

  1. Making movement a natural part of your day

  2. Knowing your sense of purpose

  3. Prioritizing stress relief

  4. Eating until you're about 80% full

  5. Eating a largely plant-based diet

  6. Drinking alcohol in moderation

  7. Connecting with your community

  8. Putting family (whether biological or chosen) first

  9. Choosing social circles that support healthy behaviors”

3. Purpose = NATURE’S EQUATION

YOU are born with purpose.

The existence of purpose in human beings is a ubiquitous pattern…..

The elements of purpose are consistent across human beings.

The Purpose Equation framework is based on Nature’s purpose equation.

Discovering your purpose by working out your equation is a natural experience—a conversation that identifies purpose elements and names them, so your purpose can rise from your subconscious into your daily conscious awareness.

Like the golden spiral, purpose is consistent, AND its’ creations range from the formation of a tiny shell to the formation of the Milky Way galaxy.

PBS Article: How Nature is Described with Math

"With a few symbols on a page, you can describe a wealth of physical phenomena," says astrophysicist Brian Greene, host of NOVA's series based on his book The Fabric of the Cosmos. "And that is, in some sense, what we mean by elegance—that the messy, complex world around us emanates from this very simple equation that you have written on a piece of paper."

What is the Golden Spiral? To find out, let's draw one.

Finding Mathematical Equations in Nature

“Formulas like Galileo's and Netwton's make the invisible visible.

“With d = 16t2, we can "see" the motion of falling objects. With Newton's equation on gravity, we can "see" the force that holds the moon in orbit around the Earth. With Einstein's equations, we can "see" atoms. "Einstein is famous for a lot of things, but one thing that is often overlooked is he's the first person who actually said how big an atom is," says Jim Gates, a physicist at the University of Maryland. "Einstein used mathematics to see a piece of the universe that no one had ever seen before."“

From the blue-and-black symmetries of a butterfly TO the mazelike grooves of a brain coral, nature reveals itself as a great artist, switching off between painting and sculpture. Nature should also get credit, though, for being a first-class mathematician. The patterns and shapes of living things correspond to some of the most abstract ideas in math.”

Through the Purpose Equation, you SEE, FEEL, NAME and ACTIVATE your innate, unique purpose every day.

It’s the most natural way to discover your purpose. I don’t believe in using a survey to show you your total purpose. The Equation is a self-discovery experience that you direct, with support from your Purpose Guide.

Discovering your purposeEQ needs to be natural to be effective for you.

  • Like having a conversation while you walk in the woods. A hopeful conversation that is gentle and helpful.

  • Learn and grow your purpose, like a plant that gets enough sunlight—purpose is the sunlight that sparks photosynthesis.

As you walk, we notice what you notice. We see what sounds catch your ear. We see what motivates you, sparks joy, creates meaning.

We guide you to examine each element of your natural purpose equation, to understand it, question it, test it out (purpose prescription), refine it. KNOW your reason to rise. It’s a matter of life.
